I've got an 03 with weird radio problems too. The radio will mute, press mute button to get it to unmute and it will play for a second or two, mute again and do the same thing over and over. After a few minutes of that I will just turn the radio off and leave it off then it will work normal for a while. It will also change from FM1 to FM2 to AM to CD, and just keep cycling like that over and over.

This post is a culmination of frustration in trying to resolve this problem of over a year or more. I have a 2004 F-250 SD, Crew Cab,...

First, your battery went dead, and now your car stereo is dead, and it's really shaping up to be just one of those days.So you drive the rest of the way to work in silence, and you hope that the next step isn't going to be buying a brand new car stereo.
