  3. I think we have some crossed wires here. I've been speaking about CRT vs LCD monitors. 2006 LCD monitors were decidedly NOT 1080p. They weren't even widescreen. In 2006, decent LCDs were 4:3 aspect ratio with a typical resolution of 1280x1024 at 60Hz. CRTs of similar sizes at the time often supported higher resolutions.
