I am an end-user, use Tiddlywiki for note taking. I am not a programmer nor familiar with scripting in Tiddlywiki. These are some simple notes about how effectively use Tiddlywiki. Some are redundant and familiar for an average user. But these tips show how to use Tiddlywiki in real life. This is an open discussion and will collect tips to publish them in a separate thread under Tips & Tricks ...

Jul 7, 2023Note that tiddlyhost is not the above, it is cloud delivered single file wikis. If you treat tiddlywiki as a single file smart document its has enought capacity if not more, as most single file documents to handle media except perhaps for the most media rich contents. Jul 19, 2023Although I haven't studied the linked material in depth I can attribute my own experiences. For context I searched for several decades for a journaling system. I tried things like OmniFocus, TaskWarrior, Things, and even Markdown files. Nothing stuck. Nothing I did kept me active on the system daily. It wasn't till I started using TW as my daily note-taking and to do tracking system at my ...

Grok tiddlywiki provides a serial guide to learning things. As for nested tags, you can do a form of that immediately by making one tiddler's title the tag of another tiddler. However, in ...
  6. The Tiddlywiki website also has a ton of information on various syncing and saving solutions for Tiddlywiki. This really is a "roll your own solution" for note taking across multiple devices. But the end product is just an HTML file with Javascript, so it's pretty future-proof.
  7. TiddlyWiki can even be used as a static site generator! I am currently working on some templates that will be used to create different pages for my notes. Honestly, it started as a notetaking application for me, but after spending some time learning the syntax, it transformed into a application builder software. I can highly recommend.

<<< TiddlyWiki for Scholars is a personal customization of TiddlyWiki 5..13-beta I made for note-taking from readings, but it can be useful for other purposes. The idea behind this adaptation is to show and to allow creating relevant data related to the current tiddler without leaving the tiddler. <<<

By storing additional data in an alternate data stream, it manages to keep them in the 'Internet' zone regardless of attempts to rename or modify the file. But, in order to be able to SaveChanges, TiddlyWiki needs to run in the 'My Computer' zone. The solution is to right-click on the TiddlyWiki html file and choose Properties.
