Notes on my personal wiki config * Config stuff for org-roam and org-publish. See also Flock. 1. How I publish my wiki with org-publish 2..dir-locals.el. I have a separate work knowledgebase using org-roam, but occassionally at work I also want to add something into my personal knowledgebase. So having the org-roam-directory set in the org-roam ...

One of the most useful things I self host on my server is a personal wiki. I use it for note taking on projects, a journal, a beer homebrew log, storing recipes, config files, and for archiving web pages or documents. It is a great alternative to Evernote or OneNote if you want to keep your information out of the corporate cloud.
  4. Hello everyone, Can anyone please suggest me some modern but easy personal wiki for saving notes or random useful things. So far i tried wikijs (modern but overkill for me) bookstack (overall looking best choice so far) mkdocs with material theme (i liked this one most because of simple and beautiful ui but lack of editor is deal breaker)
  5. Feb 21, 20241-main/ is the folder where the settings will be applied: org-hugo-auto-export-mode: ox-hugo's auto-saving function; org-hugo-base-dir: in this case, it's the Quartz directory; org-hugo-front-matter-format: set the front matter to yaml; Exclude notes from export. To exclude notes that are not to be exported by org-hugo-auto-export-mode, we can define it by adding a special tag #+hugo_tags ...

Welcome to your personal wiki! Wikitten is a small, fast, PHP wiki that I made because I really needed a place to store my notes, snippets, ideas, and so on. I've tried a lot of personal wikis and note-taking applications in the past, but since I have peculiar needs, none of them really suited me, so I rolled my own. ... First, copy the config ...
  7. and my setup is NC with notes app, I used to keep everything there, but over time it had like 100+ file (note). So, I figured I'd use NC notes for daily notes, and run Bookstack as a wiki solution for other stuff like some configuration, solutions, etc. Bookstack support a dark theme and has a nice UI and WYSIWYG editor

With org-publish you can pretty easily (requires a bit of config) output the static HTML. org-roam taught me the nice idea of adding extra hook as well for org-publish, and has one for pulling in all your backlinks. I may switch to ox-hugo at some point, for improved publishing. See my personal wiki config for some config bits and pieces.
  9. Nov 7, 2024DokuWiki: Ideal for personal wikis and small projects, DokuWiki requires no database, making it easy to set up and maintain with minimal resources. This lightweight approach suits small teams looking for a straightforward, low-maintenance self-hosted documentation tool. ... Wiki.js requires additional configuration with Node.js. Always ...
  10. The reason I switched was because I wanted something portable, and if I have a catastrophic failure on my home lab, I could either spin it up, or recover the pages quickly. My personal wiki is where I store all my notes on my setup. It's definitely needed to recover. WikiJS supports multiple DB formats, and my favourite feature is that sync to ...
  11. Besides our notes, all settings are stored under the folder .obsidian including built-in plugin settings, downloaded community plugins, workspace layouts, hotkeys, etc. Note that Obsidian has split config into multiple JSON files since v1.0. Let's take a look at what's inside this folder:
