    The six pages that make up the introduction to John Szarkowski's 1966 book, The Photographer's Eye, are in my opinion the clearest, most concise, most accessible and for me, the most relatable description of the essential elements of photography and why they are significant. It may not in the end represent the only photographic philosophy I embrace, but it is one for which I am all in.
