  2. Using it for research is ethical rather than writing an entire essay. However, many High School and College students use it unethically to avoid doing any actual work. That's unethical. I'd also note that some of the summaries of information from ChatGPT are incorrect. I've found multiple factual errors.

  6. I use ChatGPT then on top of that I run it through Quillbot to switch up the phrasing. Out of curiosity, I purchased Unicheck (the #1 rated checker that comes the closest to school system plagiarism checkers) to see if anything would come back as flagged. Came back as 100% authentic on 10 pages of ChatGPT/Quillbot combined.
  7. What is currently being said regarding plagiarism checks is that-thus far- such websites can't detect AI-generated content however there might be a new plagiarism checking program we don't know of that could potentially be used by professors
  8. Plagiarism involves using someone's work and not attributing it to that writer. If you ask ChatGPT a question and then ask it to include inline citations and produce a reference list it will do that. That isn't plagiarism if it is properly cited.
  9. So since ChatGPT has been released a lot of students have been using it, quite honestly why wouldn't you. Plagiarism however is the biggest concern for students and most will only use it for small articles or to summarise etc. however since then I have seen many posts and TikToks about people getting caught using it.

  11. For good measure I would use ChatGPT to formulate ideas and your basic argument. Then get it to suggest readings that support that argument. Ask it to break down each of the readings, maybe ask what chapters does it think are most relevant, then read the chapters then you can have more differentiation in your input from your class mate and formulate a different essay while still using the AI ...
