  1. The first Dragonlance trilogy grabbed my attention and did not let go until I've filled a shelf with Dragonlance books, making me a lifelong fantasy fan. The books might not have had the most complex writing, and read quite a bit like the minutes of someone's D&D campaign, but they're perfect for getting someone new to the genre hooked.

THE DRAGONLANCE CHRONICLES by Margaret Weis & Tracy Hickman Dragons of Autumn Twilight, a classic work of high fantasy, marks the beginning of a remarkable 6-book tale (the Chronicles Trilogy, followed by the even more magnificent Legends Trilogy), which greatly increased the interest in the Dungeons & Dragons game throughout the 1980's. It certainly does contain more than a few stock ...

Aug 11, 2023As a huge Dungeons and Dragon's fanatic and a fantasy book nerd, it is very surprising to admit I only recently read through some of the classic Dragonlance series by Margaret Weiss and Tracy Hickman. The series follows a band of adventurers in a world named Krynn. A place of mystery and magic, gods and dragons.
  4. Dragonlance and books like that are very similar to LITrpg and game lit. Dragonlance especially is a precursor to LITrpg given that it is (for the first couple books) a direct one-one of a dnd game. Wies and Hickman released an annotated version of the first 2 trilogies and detailed exactly when they started writing before playing/designing the ...
  5. The Dragonlance Chronicles trilogy is one of the most famous works of epic fantasy of the 1980s. Published in 1984 and 1985, the trilogy and its immediate sequel series ( The Dragonlance Legends ) have together sold almost 30 million copies, making them one of the biggest-selling series of that decade.

Sep 10, 2024For anyone who knows me well, it won't come as a surprise that the first books I've chosen to review are the Dragonlance Chronicles . These books hold a special place in my heart, and I can confidently say they're my favorite fantasy series of all time. Written by Margaret Weis and Tracy Hickman, t

There is also a great sense of humor throughout the books and many scenes are bound to get a laugh. Another enchanting element in these books is the cover artwork, painted by Larry Elmore. The covers of the first edition books are beautiful and extremely well done. That art is part of the intrigue for me and adds atmosphere in a great way.

May 12, 2023It's a sprawling series of books filled with high magic, tragedy and drama, and remains not only a series of fantastic Dragonlance books, but a classic fantasy epic that holds up almost 40 years after it was first published. 1. Time of the Twins (1986) 2. War of the Twins (1986) 3. Test of the Twins (1986)

Dragonlance is a series of High Fantasy novels and an accompanying Dungeons & Dragons setting, devised by husband-and-wife team Tracy Hickman and Laura Hickman, and popularized via novels by Margaret Weis and Tracy Hickman.. The concept of the Balance Between Good and Evil is a central theme of the setting, as the stories have shown similarly dire consequences when good and evil each spiral ...

Yeah, that's the Dragonlance trilogy for you. It has it's defenders, but it's basically bad D&D fanfiction. I won't lie - whilst even at 12 the main DL books were a bit crappy-seeming (no likeable or inspiring characters though I remember thinking Kitiara was kind of hot, I think that was more the art + being 12 than anything else), I did enjoy some of the non-linear spin-offs, which tended to ...
