I decided to create this thread to share with You my tagging system. On the web You can find hundreds of discussions considering methods for indexing classical music pieces, making the search as intuitive as possible, creating complex autopaylists etc. Over the years I've used multiple multimedia managers and programs. Each of them offered something interesting, but also reduced some other ...

  3. Moreover, in the process of testing all of the above software, I made an important discovery: The metadata on most classical tracks is largely incomplete, inconsistent, inaccurate or poorly organized. And ultimately, even the best software cataloging tool is going to do a poor job without accurate information.

As a compulsive "collector/librarian", (books, CD's, manuscripts, sheet music, digitized music (midi, .pdf, .ogg, .mp3, baroque tablature files, image files, weblinks, etc) the best advice I can offer is to spend some time really thinking through how you plan to search for things, and especially your FILE NAMING conventions... before you start.
  6. classical.net

The site now features over 9000 files of information including thousands of CD, Book, Concert, DVD and Blu-ray reviews and more than 5500 links to other ...
  7. Support for composer metadata is a must, and somewhere to put information about recording dates/venues and arrangers/transcribers would be nice. - Offers gapless playback. A big one for classical, where lots of pieces feature music that is continuously played, but that is split into separate movements - and, thus, often into separate tracks.
  8. audiophilestyle.com

Hi, if you want classical music organizer/library, than the players mentioned above will give you some options to choose from. If you want great sound quality and you are not afraid of command-line bare linux try wtf-player, it is free, simple and would be used in Windows computer.
  9. Those with very large classical music libraries, what software do you use to manage your music? I hate iTunes and I know that I'm not alone. But I've got 40,000 songs in my library, most of it classical (yes, I paid for all of it over the years). I also have it synced with all my devices and keep up with last played date and other data.
