Museum of American Speed
Speedway Motors Museum of American Speed, located in Lincoln, Nebraska, is a premier destination for racing enthusiasts and history buffs alike. Established in 1992 by "Speedy" Bill and Joyce Smith, the museum houses an extensive collection that chronicles the evolution of American automotive performance and racing history.
Pioneer Park Nature Center
Pioneer Park is easily the best park in Lincoln regardless of the season. In the summer, it is great for running, very light hiking, and has enough open space for kite flying or organized sports. In the winter, sledding is a popular choice. There are also great photo opportunities with the unique (for Lincoln, anyway) surroundings.
University of Nebraska State Museum
We're also the permanent home for the National Geographic Photo Ark exhibit. Our Cherish Nebraska exhibit encompasses the entire 4th floor and examines Nebraska's past and present with digital interactives, collections displays, hands-on activities and a visible lab to watch our scientists at work.
