I have been trying to change my username on Windows 11 but for some reason the option is missing. Is there any reason for this (or preferably, a solution)? I am using the Administrator account and my operating system is Windows 11 Version 23H2 (OS Build 22631.2792) All help appreciated Thank you.
Aug 9, 2024If there is no Switch User option in Windows 11, that is usually because of improperly configured user accounts or a corrupt user profile. Before trying the solutions below, ensure you're using a legitimate v e rsion of Windows and check if you're using a trial version, because that would prevent you from accessing this tool.
I have signed up via google yesterday and didn't changed the random username which Reddit has provided me. But now when I'm opening Reddit, no popup/option is displaying to change the username. I haven't customized any username untill now. Didn't click on "Keep username" either. In settings also there's no option?
User logged into Laptop using Personal MS account as edition was Home - so unable to log in with work account -; I then upgraded to Enterprise edition and removed personal account from device but did not have the option to add work account in other users - only option to add local accounts; in the end I have created a local account and connected work account in that account.

None of the other local accounts that you just created are displayed. Not only that, but there is no option to "switch user". Nothing like "other user" is displayed as suggested by KevinB85. There is notevenaoption to log off. Have I got this right? OK. That's weird. KevinB85 is right. The "other user" option should be displayed.
Reddit makes a suggestion upon registering, there should have been an option to close that and create your own. Unfortunately because it is created, you can not change this username, you will need to register again (don't worry, you can use the same email) & just look for the close option when reddit suggests a username for you.
