If you purchased your subscription on one device (Purchase Device) and are trying to activate your subscription in a 3rd-party browser (Second Browser) you need to follow the steps below:
First, you need to add an email address to the subscription, on the Purchase Device
- In the DuckDuckGo browser, under Subscription Settings, click on ‘Add to Another Device'
- Click ‘Add email'
- Enter an email address (this can be any email address that you have access to)
- Within a minute or so you’ll receive a One-Time-Passphrase to that email address
- Copy and Paste the passphrase into the page on the Purchase Device
- You only have 5 minutes to enter this code or it will expire
- If you are typing it, make sure that auto-correct doesn’t change the words
- Success - you’ve just added an email address to your subscription
- There are two ways to confirm this:
- You should receive an email with the subject 'Your email has been added to your subscription'
- If you follow the steps above, at step #2 you should see your email address displayed
Second, you need to activate your subscription using the email address, in the Second Browser
- In the Second Browser, navigate to Duck.ai
- Click on the settings icon
- Click "I have a Subscription"
- Enter the email address you added on the Purchase Device
- Within a minute or so you’ll receive a One-Time-Passphrase to that email address
- Copy and Paste the passphrase into the Second Browser
- You only have 5 minutes to enter this code or it will expire
- If you are typing it, make sure that auto-correct doesn’t change the words
- Success - You have activated your subscription on the Second Browser, you can now activate your subscription on all your devices using the same email address
