I lost my device. How can I access my subscription?

You can activate your subscription on any other device using your Apple Account (if you purchased in the App Store), or your Google account (if you purchased in the Play Store), or the email you signed up with (if you purchased the subscription via our website using Stripe).

If you initially purchased via the Apple App Store:  

  • Make sure you’re logged into the same Apple Account in the App Store
  • From the DuckDuckGo browser, open the 3-line menu > Settings > Subscription Settings
  • Select I Have a Subscription
  • Click Restore Purchase in the Apple Account section of the "Activate Device" screen

 If you initially purchased via the Google Play Store:  

  • Make sure you’re logged into the same Google account in the Play Store
  • From the DuckDuckGo browser, open the 3-line menu > Settings > Subscription Settings
  • Select I Have a Subscription
  • Click Restore Purchase in the Google Play section of the "Activate Device" screen

If you initially purchased directly through our website and paid using your credit card, you can first try restoring your purchase using the email address in the receipt sent to you by Stripe. Alternatively, you can follow these steps:  

  • From the DuckDuckGo browser, open the 3-line menu > Settings > Subscription Settings
  • Select I Have a Subscription
  • Click Restore Purchase in the Email section of the "Activate Device" screen
  • Use the email address from your Stripe receipt to restore your subscription

If you don't have your receipt from Stripe or no longer recall the email address you signed up with, please contact your bank to cancel the payment method for your subscription and purchase a new one. 

As part of our policy of respecting your privacy, we do not store email addresses or other identifying information for subscribers on our servers. Unfortunately, if you have not added an optional email address to your subscription, we cannot verify your identity or look up the subscription on your behalf.
